A Beginner's Guide to Mount Pulag Climbing
I prefer to try something new every year. I therefore made the decision to ascend Mt. Pulag, the gods' playground, rather than just any old peak. I wasn't sure, though, if my lackluster hiking experience would hold up. Though I had my reservations at first, I accepted the task. I'll describe my experience climbing Mount Pulag for the first time in this post.
It's important to remember that my experiences camping at Camp 2 are reflected in this post and may not be the same as those organized by tour companies. Since most package tours take place on weekends, you'll probably stay at one of Kabayan, Benguet's homestays.
At 2,928 meters above sea level, Mt. Pulag is the third-highest summit in the Philippines. This magnificent mountain boasts a sea of clouds, expansive grasslands, charming pine and mossy forests, and tranquil slopes covered in dwarf bamboo. The regulations for climbing Mount Pulag have undergone considerable changes in the past few years in response to worries about ecotourism brought on by the continuous flood of people.
